Percussionist Kory Andry graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy in 1989, and earned a Bachelor of Percussion Performance from the Louisiana State University in 1993. He currently holds the position of Principal Timpanist of the Minnesota Opera Orchestra, Principal Percussionist of the Minnesota Sinfonia under the direction of Jay Fishman and is an active freelance percussionist in the Twin Cities area performing with such groups as The VocalEssence Ensemble Singers as well as the Minnesota Dance Theater.
A past winner of the Percussive Arts Society National Vibraphone Competition Award, Kory’s performance credits include such national touring shows as Wicked, Showboat, Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Little Shop of Horrors, Spamalot, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, How to Succeed at Business, Beauty and the Beast, Ragtime, Grease, Mary Poppins, Dream Girls, Young Frankenstein, Blood Brothers, Titanic, Hairspray, White Christmas, Pippin, Motown the Musical, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, Floyd Collins, Sweet Charity, and West Side Story. Performances at the Children’s Theater Company include A Year with Frog and Toad, The Wizard of Oz, Honk, and Aladdin. In addition he performed in 1776, H.M.S. Pinafore, She Loves Me, Pirates of Penzance, Carolyn or Change, The Music Man, My Fair Lady and Guys and Dolls at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
